After close to thirty years of policing I’m hanging up my gun, handcuffs and notebook. It’s been an incredible succession of experiences and I’ve shared those experiences with excellent co-workers. I’ve seen the worst society produced but have also been blessed to see the best. While I will miss the people I worked with, I will not miss the long hours, nightshifts, early mornings, and non-stop stream of problems.

An excellent pension plan and careful financial planning on the homefront has resulted in the ability to retire just short of my 52nd birthday; a gift I do not want to waste. Some relaxing and travel is on the agenda soon, and after that, more time to spend with loved ones and in volunteer opportunities.

This blog will give me an outlet for expression, sharing experiences and opinions, and generally rambling on about anything that comes to mind.
